Vardy was a pupil of William Kent and published several of Kent's works, primarily "Some Designs of Mr. Inigo Jones and Mr. William Kent" in 1744. Vardy completed the Horse Guards in Whitehall to Kent's designs after this master's death. Also of note is Vardy's work on the elevations of Spencer House.
