Samares Manor is surrounded by 14 acres of landscaped gardens, created in the 1920s by Sir James Knott, the shipping line owner and philanthropist. It includes a Japanese Garden, Herb Garden, Water Garden, Willow Labyrinth, and the 16th century colombier (dovecote).
