Glamis was originally a royal hunting lodge and became a royal residence in 1372. The Castle is traditionally the legendary setting for Shakespeare's "Hamlet." Glamis was also the childhood home of the late Queen Mother and birthplace of her daughter, the late Princess Margaret.
