The House was recast for Dowager Viscountess Bateman, the daughter of the 3rd Earl of Sunderland, after 1744. The northeast Greek Doric porch, doorcases, chimneypieces were added circa 1840. Explorer Augustine Courtauld owned the House between 1935-1959.
