Gardens & Park
Garden, Park, Follies and Outbuildings
The romantic Cholmondeley Castle - a mock castle folly built in 1801 of local sandstone - stands on a rise above a lake. The Gothic-style castle is surrounded by sweeping lawns and a variety of mature trees, including chestnut, cedars of Lebanon, and oak.
The gardens surrounding the Castle provide a lovely mix of color and height, with intriguing walks around the lake, complete with a picnic site, children's play area, and rare breeds of farm animals, including African pygmy goats and llamas, in addition to the more ordinary rabbits, chickens, and aviary birds. There is also the laburnum grove, the Rose Garden, and the Temple Water Garden, with sports a small lake full of giant koi carp. Plantings are planned to provide color at all times of the year and there is a plant shop in the grounds.
Chapel & Church
There is a private chapel in the Park.
